Sarah Schwarzenbach, dipl. Hôtelière-Restauratrice SHL, has been working as a business consultant for KATAG & Partners AG since 2022. She created various concept in Switzerland and abroad. Schwarzenbach founded her own company with whom she managed different entities during six years. After the fire at the mountain restaurant “Stafelalp” in Zermatt, she created the business plan for the temporary building and took over the management of the mountain restaurant for 5 years. Schwarzenbach has experience in construction and interior design of hotels, restaurants and apartment houses in the boutique and luxury segment.

Catia Hüppi has been working for KATAG & Partners AG since September 2023. Prior to that, she worked for seven years as Assistant Chairman of the Gastronomy Management Board at BINDELLA. Her responsibilities included the budgeting of over 45 restaurants, assisting in lease negotiations and supporting various strategic and operational matters. At the same time, she was responsible for the Restaurant National in Winterthur for five years as operational manager. She played a key role in the digitization process. For another four years, Catia Hüppi worked as an assistant and then as head of the F&B team with recipe development, strategy, quality standards and support for several new openings at HILTL. Prior to that, she worked as an operation assistant in the management and reorganization of a reception.

Esra Tellenbach has been working as a client advisor for KATAG & Partners AG since 2023. She has a degree in hotel management and many years of experience in the catering and hotel industries. Past, present and future

Origins in the canteen business

On March 8, 1960 the Association of Swiss Brewers founded the company 'Kantinen Treuhand AG' in Lucerne.

The company's purpose was clearly spelt out in its name. The goal was to find canteen operators, train them up, and allocate them to the canteens that were operating on the large-scale building sites common at the time ( e.g. for motorways, reservoirs and power plants).

The company would then provide them with tax, accounting and consulting services. The brewers had a clear and pressing reason for founding the company that would later become KATAG: they wanted to prevent the "Volksdienst" organisation (now known as SV Service) from taking over the canteens and enforcing their stated policy goal of stopping the sale of alcohol!

Where we are today – a modern tax, accounting and consulting firm

The company 'Kantinen Treuhand AG' gradually evolved into its current incarnation as a modern service provider for the hotel and restaurant sectors.

Its current purpose is described in the trade register as follows: "furnishing services and advice for all areas of the hospitality, hotel and tourism industries in

Switzerland; acquisition, administration, management, encumbrance and disposal of land; investments and shareholdings; pursuance of all commercial, financial and other activities." Nowadays, the brewers only play a minimal role in the business as shareholders. The 120‘000.- Swiss francs of share capital is now in the hands of the three managing partners. The share capital has been paid up in full.
